Rev. G. Paul Freeman The Traveling Prayer Warrior here.
As I introduce myself, my journey and my life's experience's and the fact that I am not perfect, I wish to remind you all that life can be harder on some and much easier on other's but at the end of the day, God has a plan for us all and I have personally found that through my faith and daily prayer, God has never left me.
The path I have been on for 61 years has brought me to understand that I am called to minister to others through prayer with the belief that God listens to our prayers answers them as well.
From early in my life to my homeless days ( late teen to early adult) I prayed for help, but I wasn't able to understand my prayers or hear and see the help God was giving me because of the distractions called life.
But once I focused on The Lord, hearing His voice became a daily event.
I was saved (gave my life to Jesus) when I was very young, living in a home with my two brothers and sister, a home that many would call unfit for children because drugs were always present.
Going to the local church in Irving Texas was my escape but that escape had escaped me and I too started smoking pot and trying other drugs.
But by the Grace of God's love I was saved from that life at the age of 11 as I was enrolled into Cal Farley's Boys Ranch where my faith in God's love was renewed even stronger.
Now life at the ranch was going great but then my mother and newest husband wanted me to come back home. I was to turn 16 the next month and before I was in my mid 16's I was back to doing drugs and ran away from that home, ending up living with my dad a couple of times and before I finished the 11th grade, I was gone again only to end up in a drug rehab center in San Antonio Texas where I received my GED and went on to start college at San Antonio College. But unfortunately I got real sick and never finished my second semester. All was well though, or so I thought.
I soon found myself living on the streets from Texas to California, Until once again God showed me His way out of that situation.
I became that man that I prayed for God to mold me to be, working hard living in my own place and then, because of drugs, a couple of years later I ended up in a Texas prison to serve 20 years for burglary and drug possession.
My first prayer in prison to God was to let me die in that prison or one day walk out becoming the man He wanted me to be instead of the person I was.
I ended up only serving 2 years 2 months and 2 days between jail and prison.
222 some call them Angel numbers, I call them my reminder of God's love for me in that He had a plan for me because i was walking out of a prison that (97% as was said) end up back in but because of my prayer and God's answer, I knew I would not be a part of that 97%.
Fast forward, I now have two handsome sons and two beautiful daughters, six grandchildren and a wife that loves and supports me and my prayer ministry.
D'Anna and I have been married going on 13 years now and counting. We have prayed together from day one and we have prayed for other's in our community and around the world either by request or because God put the need in front of us.
My prayer is to always be available to those in need of prayers but to also be able to help those people living on the streets through prayers, bibles and a warm blanket or sleeping bag.
Maybe one day raise enough money to build a small house community for the homeless.
